Rep backs Tinubu’s policies for oil, gas sector
The member representing Esan North East/Esan South East in the House of Representatives, Hon. Prince Odianosen Okojie, has backed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu‘s policies aimed at developing the Nation’s Oil and gas.
Hon. Okojie said the plan of President Ahmed Tinubu for the sector if totally implemented, will lead the country to economic prosperity and infrastructural advancement.
Noting that, the House of Representatives Committee on Petroleum Resources (Midstream) which he (Hon. Okojie) chairs, will provide the needed legislative support geared towards advancing the Oil and Gas Sector.
The lawmaker, who is the Chairman, House Committee on Petroleum Resources (Midstream), made the promise while responding to questions from journalists yesterday at his office in the National Assembly Complex Abuja.
He applauded the proactive steps taking by Sen. Heineken Lokpobiri, Minister of State, Petroleum Resources (Oil); Hon. Ekperikpe Ekpo, Minister of State, Petroleum Resources (Gas) and the Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPC Ltd., Mele Kyari, for the inspection of the Port Harcourt Refining Company (PHRC) Ltd. plant.
Okojie stated that, their will be a sporadic boost in fuel production with the proposed december deadline for the completion of the ongoing Rehabilitation of the Port Harcourt plant as well as the FGN’S policies in revamping other refineries that has been moribund.
In another development, Hon. Okojie, has praised the choice of Senator George Akumen as the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), by President Tinubu.
Okojie, who visited the SGF in Abuja, described the choice as a square peg in a square hole.
The lawmaker’s visit was centred on strengthening ties between the Federal Government and the people of Agbazillo.
Okojie, as part of his discussions with Akume, reminded him of the deplorable state of the Ewu-Uromi- Agbor and Auchi- Ewu-Benin Federal Highways.
He urged the Federal Government to carry out quick interventions on the aforementioned roads arising from the motion he (Hon. Okojie) moved on the floor of the National Assemby.
He pledged the total support of his people in providing the necessary assistance toward the repair of the roads.
